Author Guidelines

  • The Journal of Extension Education (JEE) is the official refereed journal of the Extension Education Society.  It accepts articles representing original work, analytical papers and papers grounded in theory in the field of Extension Education, with reference to agriculture and rural development. Articles should relate to emerging issues, cite appropriate literature, and draw out implications for extension education.
 
  • Invariably all the authors of article should be the members/subscribers (annual /life) of the Journal of Extension Education, which should be mentioned during registration.
  • Please be informed that only papers that are uploaded using the online submission system of Journal of Extension Education (JEE ) will be considered. Sending papers as email attachments to the journal will not be  considered.
  • To submit a paper, you need to log in to JEE site, which requires you to be registered. If you are not registered, please complete the form on our registration page (which will log you in after it is submitted). If you are registered, please go to the paper submission page (which will ask you to log in if you are not already logged in).
  • Before uploading a paper for consideration for publication in JEE, please check that the content is relevant by reading other articles in JEE.
 
  • The submission must follow the most recent version of the APA style guide (For detailed information, please see the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 6th edition, http://www.apastyle.org/  and http://blog.apastyle.org/ .).
  • For example, 
    • Rogers, E. M., & Shoemaker, F. (1971). Communication of innovations – A cross-cultural approach. New York: Free Press.
    • Suvedi, M, Campo, S., & Lapinski, M. K. (1999). Trends in Michigan farmers’ information-seeking behaviors and perspectives on the delivery of information. Journal of Applied Communications, 83(3), 33-50.
  • An abstract is required for an article submission. Please be sure to complete the text box for an abstract in the submission's metadata section. All articles should include an abstract of not more than 120 words.
  • Please see the Submission Preparation List for specific guidelines.
  • The text has had the authors' names removed. If an author is cited, "Author" and year are used in the bibliography and footnotes, instead of author's name, paper title, etc. The author's name has also been removed from the document's Properties, which in Microsoft Word is found in the File menu.
  • Please ensure that your submission is anonymized (including in "Properties). To anonymize your manuscript, follow these instructions.
  • Also ensure there is no author information in the metadata of any of the files submitted (e.g., in Word see:http://bit.ly/201IdX7;). Remove acknowledgments, grant funding, or other author-related information from the manuscript. Check the figures for appearance of any author names.
  • Authors must include their profile, including affiliation and rank, when submitting a manuscript. 
  • Authors should fill-in the metadata related to the manuscript such as
    authors (each author should be entered separately, using ADD AUTHOR option), keywords, references etc.,
  • All spellings must be rendered in American English. To change British or Commonwealth spellings to their American equivalents, please see the Merriam-Webster Unabridged Dictionary.
  • Only one submission by an author will be considered at a time.
  • Please ensure that your article does not contain work taken from other sources without the appropriate acknowledgements.
  • Page printing charges: All the authors whose papers are accepted for publication are required to pay page printing charges (At present it is Rs.300 per page - inclusive of all taxes). The rate list of page printing charges will be supplied to authors along with the acceptance letters by mail. JEE, however, does not collect 'article submission fees'.
  • Submissions that fail to meet these guidelines will not be considered for publication in JEE

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

    1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for publication consideration

    2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word file format.

    3. All URL addresses in the text (e.g., http://caneinfo.icar.gov.in) are activated and ready to click.

    4. The text is double-spaced; uses a 12-point font, employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate reference points, rather than at the end of the article.

    5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in "About the Journal."

    6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in "Ensuring a Blind Review" have been followed (if applicable).

    7. Author(s) of article are members/subscribers (annual/life) of the Journal of Extension Education (JEE)
